EYFS & Ofsted Policies and Procedures

This document contains the core statutory and best‑practice policies for Morgan’s Playhouse Childcare Services. All policies are written in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework and Ofsted requirements. These policies apply to all staff, students, volunteers, children, and families at Morgan’s Playhouse.

Safeguarding Policy
Morgan’s Playhouse is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
We follow the EYFS statutory framework and local safeguarding partnership procedures.
All staff at Morgan’s Playhouse receive safeguarding training and understand their duty to report concerns.
Any safeguarding concerns will be recorded and reported to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and relevant agencies.

Whistleblowing Policy
Morgan’s Playhouse encourages staff to report concerns about unsafe, unethical, or unlawful practice.
Concerns can be raised internally or directly to Ofsted or the Local Authority.
Staff will be protected from victimisation when concerns are raised in good faith.

Health and Safety Policy
Morgan’s Playhouse provides a safe and healthy environment for children, staff, and visitors.
Risk assessments are carried out regularly and reviewed.
All accidents and hazards are recorded and addressed promptly.

Funding Policy
Morgan’s Playhouse administers government childcare funding fairly and transparently.
Funding is claimed in line with local authority guidance.
Parents are informed of any additional charges not covered by funding.

Alcohol and Drugs Policy
Morgan’s Playhouse operates a zero‑tolerance approach to alcohol and illegal substances.
Staff must not attend work under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Any breach will be treated as a serious disciplinary matter.

Babysitting Policy
Staff at Morgan’s Playhouse are not permitted to babysit for children attending the setting.
This prevents conflicts of interest and safeguards professional boundaries.

Child Sickness and Infection Control Policy
Morgan’s Playhouse follows Public Health England guidance on illness and exclusion periods.
Children who are unwell must not attend until fit to return.
Good hygiene practices are promoted at all times.

Complaints Policy
Morgan’s Playhouse values feedback and takes complaints seriously.
Complaints should be made in writing and will be acknowledged within 3 working days.
Parents may contact Ofsted if they are dissatisfied with the outcome.

Intimate Care Policy
Morgan’s Playhouse ensures intimate care is carried out respectfully and safely.
Staff follow agreed care plans and record all intimate care provided.
Children’s dignity and privacy are always maintained.

Late Collection of Children Policy
Parents must collect their children on time.
Late collection fees apply as outlined in Morgan’s Playhouse terms and conditions.
Persistent late collection may result in a review of the childcare place.

Lost or Missing Child Policy
Morgan’s Playhouse has clear procedures in place should a child go missing.
Immediate searches are carried out, and emergency services are contacted if required.
Parents and Ofsted will be informed.

Medication Policy
Morgan’s Playhouse only administers medication with written parental consent.
Medication must be prescribed, clearly labelled, and stored safely.
All medication administration is recorded.

Mobile Phone, Camera and Electronic Devices Policy
To safeguard children, personal mobile phones and smart devices are restricted at Morgan’s Playhouse.
Staff must not take or share images of children.
Setting devices are used in line with GDPR and safeguarding procedures.

Regular Outings and Trips Policy
Morgan’s Playhouse provides safe and enriching outings.
Risk assessments and parental consent are obtained prior to all outings.
Appropriate staffing ratios are maintained at all times.

Safer Recruitment Policy
Morgan’s Playhouse follows safer recruitment practices.
All staff undergo enhanced DBS checks and reference checks.
Staff suitability is reviewed regularly.

Smoking and Vaping Policy
Morgan’s Playhouse is a smoke‑free and vape‑free environment.
Smoking and vaping are not permitted on or near the premises.

Staff Code of Conduct Policy
Staff at Morgan’s Playhouse are expected to act professionally at all times.
Confidentiality, respect, and positive role modelling are essential.
Breaches may result in disciplinary action.

Supervision Policy
Morgan’s Playhouse provides regular supervision and support for staff.
Supervision meetings support well-being, performance, and safeguarding.
